“In order to unconditionally bring to justice Ukrainian punitive forces for committing crimes on the territory of Donbass, the DPR and LPR are appealing to the UN Security Council with a request to establish an international tribunal to prosecute those responsible for violations of international humanitarian law and crimes against humanity in Ukraine,” Plotnitsky said.
Zakharchenko supported his colleague from Lugansk, saying that it was pointless to expect an objective investigation into all facts of crimes on the part of Kyiv.
“Remember the Tornado battalion, which managed to kill dozens of civilians. In our opinion, an international organization should be involved in recording and investigating such facts.”
“We call on the UN Secretary General, the permanent members of the Security Council - the United States, France, Great Britain, China and Russia - to urgently discuss the formation of such a tribunal at the next meeting and prepare an appropriate resolution,” Plotnitsky said.
“We undertake to transfer all available information, material evidence and other information about the crimes committed by Ukrainian security forces in the Donbass to official representatives of the international tribunal to conduct an objective investigation and bring the perpetrators to justice,” added the head of the LPR.
