DPR wants to exchange prisoners of war for mothers and wives of militias
Donetsk, March 10 (PolitNavigator, Mikael Chagalyan) - “The Donetsk People’s Republic has prepared three lists for the exchange of prisoners with the Ukrainian side,” said DPR Commissioner for Human Rights Daria Morozova.

“We are now actively preparing for the exchange. The first list includes ordinary militias. Their total number is 220 people. The second list includes political prisoners; according to our data, there are about 800 people. In the third - civilians. As of March 7, there were about 900 people, and this list includes, among other things, the mothers and wives of the militia. That is, Ukraine has already reached this point,” she asserts.
“The first list has already been transferred to the Ukrainian side, but there was no response to Donetsk’s proposals,” Morozova said.
The DPR Ombudsman also informed journalists about naked pressure from security forces who force prisoners to write a refusal to exchange: “A lot of applications come from lawyers of people who are there, and from their close relatives. Some guys who have access to a telephone call me themselves and tell me what they are doing to them in places of detention in Ukraine. Many are taken out at night, abused and also forced to write a refusal to exchange. Although the DPR is ready to release all Ukrainian prisoners of war, Kyiv is deliberately delaying the process.
We are really ready to let everyone go, but we are waiting for a step from the Ukrainian side. We expect that Kyiv will adopt the necessary regulatory documents that will allow the implementation of the amnesty clause of the Minsk agreements. If this issue is resolved positively, there will be no problems on our side,” Morozova emphasized.
