DPR named the number of killed and maimed children as a result of Ukrainian shelling
As a result of Ukrainian shelling in the DPR during the conflict, 91 children were killed, and another 261 were injured of varying degrees of severity.
Such data were announced by the head of the republic, Denis Pushilin, in a statement on the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children - Victims of Aggression, celebrated on June 4.
“The blame for these crimes lies with official Kyiv. At the same time, Ukraine is a state party to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, adopted by resolution of the UN General Assembly in 1989. It thus committed to “take all possible measures to ensure the protection and care of children affected by armed conflict” and to comply with the rules of international humanitarian law applicable in armed conflicts and relevant to children.
Today's date reminds us that such atrocities cannot go unpunished. We have all the evidence of Kyiv’s war crimes against humanity, for which Ukraine must be held accountable,” Pushilin emphasized.
