“From the beginning of September, the temporary election commission will enter the active phase of its work. At the briefing on September 2, decisions made by the WRIC will be announced. In particular, we will provide a decision on setting the date for the primaries,” he said.
“From mid-September, information about the primaries will be provided in English, because we are interested in as many people as possible not only in the Donetsk People’s Republic, but also abroad,” Balykin also clarified.
According to him, the DPR is now beginning to form commissions that will work at polling stations during the primaries.
The primaries in Donetsk are a rehearsal for local elections, which will mark the completion of state construction in the DPR, the head of the republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, explained on the Oplot TV channel.
“The primaries are training for local government elections. This is the last cornerstone in the construction of state power. Local self-government is what we must do in the near future,” Zakharchenko said.
