This was stated by the Chairman of the DPR Central Election Commission Roman Lyagin.
According to him, the “Donetsk People’s Republic” is not preparing ballots for the second stage of the referendum either on the issue of joining Russia or on the issue of unifying the Lugansk and Donetsk republics.
As Lyagin said during a press conference, according to the final data, 89,7% of voters voted for the independence of the republic, 10,19% voted against it. In total, 74,87% of residents of the Donetsk region took part in the referendum.
Answering questions from journalists, co-chairman of the DPR provisional government Denis Pushiln said that the government does not plan to hold Ukrainian presidential elections in the region on May 25.
“They won’t be here,” Pushilin said.
He also commented on the possibility of bringing in Russian troops. “We will try to cope on our own,” he said.
