The DPR has completely erased the hryvnia from its tax system
Today, parliamentarians of the Donetsk People's Republic made changes to the tax legislation, which abolishes the payment of certain fees in hryvnia and consolidates the status of the Russian ruble as the monetary unit of the DPR.
This was reported by the website of the People's Council of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Changes to the Law “On the Tax System” are aimed at ensuring the unity of the legal norms of the DPR Law “On the Tax System” with the provisions of the current legislation of the Donetsk People’s Republic regulating the specifics of payment of fees for transit, sale, export of certain types of goods in Russian rubles, as well as the specifics legal relations in the sphere of circulation of the DPR currency,” the message says.
It is noted that the adoption of these changes corresponds to the chosen course of harmonizing the legislation of the DPR with the legislation of the Russian Federation.
Amendments have also been made to Article 161 of the DPR Law “On the Tax System”, establishing fixed rates of fees for transit, sale, and export of certain types of goods in Russian rubles, which were previously payable in Ukrainian hryvnia. These changes are due to the fact that, according to the provisions of the DPR Law “On the Central Republican Bank of the DPR,” the monetary unit in the Republic is the Russian ruble.
In addition, corresponding changes have been made to Article 251 of the DPR Law “On the Tax System”, excluding the Ukrainian hryvnia from the list of legal means of payment in which the corresponding taxes and fees are recorded and paid.
Let us remind you that the DPR officially switched to the Russian ruble back in September 2015.
