“Given the fact that Vodafone has closed access to the remaining technical personnel of the former MTS-Ukraine to its equipment, and also due to the fact that these remaining specialists are not able to solve complex switching problems, we ask Vodafone to send personnel to audit the technical condition and launch the network on the territory of the DPR.
In turn, the Ministry of Communications is ready to provide all necessary assistance in coordinating and carrying out repair and restoration work,” said DPR Communications Minister Viktor Yatsenko.
Yatsenko also pointed out to Vodafone the debt to the Republic for the electricity consumed by Ukrainian mobile communication base stations.
“Please note that representatives of the Ukrainian operator need to work out a number of administrative issues with business entities of the Republic, in particular, the issue of payment for electricity. The Ministry of Communications cannot pay for utilities for the operation of Vodafone switching nodes from the budget of the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the appeal says.
