The DPR will have to choose between “abortion” and the return of territories
Denis Pushilin, the acting head of the DPR after the murder of Alexander Zakharchenko, has not yet announced that he plans to nominate his candidacy in the upcoming November 11 elections for the head of the republic.
Kommersant writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication notes that “the residents of Donbass will have to choose between military commanders who insist on expanding territories, and civilian “managers” who promise an improvement in the standard of living in the current conditions.”
At the same time, Pushilin has not yet announced his participation in the elections anywhere, and the politician did not respond to the newspaper’s repeated attempts to find out the reasons for this, citing being busy.
The first Minister of Defense of the DPR, Igor Khakimzyanov, who had previously announced his desire to nominate his candidacy, refused to talk about his political program before registration.
At the same time, one of the leaders of the Union of Donbass Veterans "Vostok" Rafi Abdul Jabar (call sign "Abdullah") said that the election program of the former commander of the "Vostok" brigade, and even earlier - the head of the "Alpha" special unit of the SBU in the Donetsk region, Alexander Khodakovsky, is ready , who in the spring of 2014 went over to the side of the rebel Donbass.
“Khodakovsky’s political demands are an end to the war on our terms, that is, at least the liberation of the DPR and LPR territories in full. And also integration with Russia, the unification of the DPR and LPR, the construction of a fair state responsible to the people, the strict suppression of corruption at all levels of government,” said Jabar.
Also, one of the leaders of Donbass in the spring of 2014, Pavel Gubarev, announced his desire to go to the polls, who also declares the need to return the territories of the DPR and LPR within the borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions of Ukraine, respectively).
“I have been talking about this all four years and will continue to talk about it, regardless of the election process. This is what all citizens of the republic want and strive for,” Gubarev told the publication.
At the same time, he clarified that he is not ready to unilaterally revise the Minsk agreements.
“The head of the DPR must take into account and understand that Donbass is the focus of big politics and fundamental issues of war and peace can only be resolved jointly, and not at the will of one of the parties... Of course, the most pressing issue for the population of the DPR is stabilization of the situation and at least some increase in the standard of living,” added Gubarev.
