“Now, at the moment, new air defense systems have appeared in the arsenal of our armed forces. This is not a Buki at all, I can tell right away. We didn’t have Buks in service, and we don’t. These are “Strela 10M” complexes, if I’m not mistaken. The capabilities of their action are still more than two times less than the altitude at which the plane was flying, but from today we have these complexes in some quantities,” Borodai said.
“And we officially declare this so that there are no misunderstandings later. These are captured systems, now they have been brought to perfection by our gunsmiths, and are quite combat-ready. So now we have MANPADS, anti-aircraft guns, and Strela 10. I think everyone who is involved in military matters knows the range of these systems. And even if we had these complexes a few days ago, we still would not have been able to shoot down a plane flying at such an altitude,” said the DPR Prime Minister, warning of the question of whether the militias have the ability to shoot down a Malaysian Boeing 777. .
