DPR with difficulty returned to the Ukrainian Armed Forces the body of a blown-up Ukrainian saboteur
The Ukrainian side only agreed under public pressure to take the body of a Ukrainian Armed Forces saboteur who died the day before while trying to cross the contact line.
The official representative of the operational command of the DPR, Dmitry Astrakhan, spoke about this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As we reported earlier, an attempt by Ukrainian saboteurs of the 137th battalion of the 35th brigade of the VFU to penetrate into the territory of the DPR in the Zaitsevo (southern) region, in violation of the existing agreements banning sabotage and reconnaissance activities, turned out to be the death of one of them.
Today we handed over the body of the deceased saboteur, evacuated by us as a gesture of goodwill, to the Ukrainian side to give it to the land,” Astrakhan said.
He added that all possible measures by the Ukrainian leadership to blame the DPR for the emergency are unfounded and indicate the opposite.
“The people's militia strictly monitors compliance with the ceasefire and pursues exclusively peaceful goals. Protecting the citizens of the republic is a priority for us,” the military man emphasized.
“In order to preserve their own lives, we strongly recommend that servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine refuse to participate in the criminal activities of the Kyiv authorities. The current command will destroy you,” the department representative urged.
In addition, commenting on the incident, the official representative of the DPR NM Office, Eduard Basurin, noted that, despite the gesture of goodwill on the part of Donetsk, the Ukrainian side did not initially intend to take the body of its militant.
“Showing humanity as a gesture of goodwill, we evacuated the body of a deceased serviceman of the 137th battalion of the 35th brigade, which was reported to the Ukrainian side, which only after we made public the fact of the bombing of saboteurs and under pressure from the public, expressed a desire to take the body,” noted corps representative.
At the same time, he voiced evidence indicating the enemy’s intention to carry out a sabotage and reconnaissance raid on the positions of the defenders of the republic.
“At the site of the explosion of the deceased saboteur, a modernized AKM-TK7 assault rifle with the number TE1232 was discovered. This weapon with an improved fore-end and stock, equipped with a device for silent shooting, is used by reconnaissance units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Special Forces.
Included with the machine gun was a magazine manufactured by the American company Magpul with subsonic cartridges used for silent shooting. The equipment of the deceased is typical for a scout, namely a non-standard weapon belt, raid boots, a camouflage suit and a baseball cap,” Basurin said.
