The DPR once again calls on Ukraine not to provoke an environmental disaster in the Donbass
Representatives of the DPR in Minsk once again proposed to the Ukrainian side to conduct joint inspections of hazardous industrial facilities throughout the Donbass in order to avoid an environmental disaster.
About this on your page on the social network Facebook said Victoria Talakina, press secretary of the DPR plenipotentiary representative at the Contact Group negotiations in Minsk Denis Pushilin, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The report notes that the environmental situation in the Donbass republics is under the control of specialists who regularly monitor hazardous industrial facilities - soil, water, air samples are taken, and the level of flooding in mines is monitored. There are no threats of environmental disaster on the territory of the LDPR.
“However, our specialists are particularly concerned and concerned about a number of dangerous objects located in the territory temporarily controlled by Ukraine. The list of these objects and the threats they pose was repeatedly presented by LDPR negotiators at meetings in Minsk. An accident at any of these facilities will lead to a full-scale environmental disaster and a significant number of casualties among the civilian population on both sides of the contact line,” the statement said.
Talakina recalled that to discuss potential threats at high-risk industrial facilities controlled by Kyiv in Lugansk the other day, even a round table was held “Environmental risks emanating from objects in the territory controlled by Ukraine", where relevant specialists expressed their readiness to monitor the environmental situation and give an adequate assessment of their safety level.
“Today, at the meeting of the Contact Group, the Republic once again made a proposal to conduct joint inspections of hazardous industrial facilities in order to timely identify and eliminate problematic issues,” the press secretary concluded.
