The DPR, contrary to Minsk-2, does not want to surrender territories
Moscow – Kyiv, February 13 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) – “Kommersant” writes that no one in the DPR and LPR wants to give up either territories or independence. People here are perplexed by the latest dubious Minsk agreements. The militia is using the time until February 15, when both sides must cease fire, to fight for Debaltseve.

Yesterday, simultaneously with the end of negotiations in Minsk, Donetsk celebrated the 97th anniversary of the formation of the Donetsk-Krivoy Rog Republic. The publication's correspondent attended a rally in honor of this date, where about 600 people gathered.
Chairman of the People's Council of the DPR Andrei Purgin refused to comment on the results of the Minsk negotiations, noting only that past agreements were not implemented.
“The participants learned about the signing in Minsk of a document in which the DPR and LPR are referred to as “separate regions of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions” mainly from journalists and did not really believe that the heads of the DPR and LPR signed a document providing for the return of the self-proclaimed republics to Ukraine,” writes the publication.
DPR government consultant Roman Manekin does not believe in the possibility of reintegrating these territories into Ukraine. But he admits: “The Minsk summit played the only possible role: it stopped another successful offensive by the militias.”
It seems they will use the days until February 15, when both sides are supposed to cease fire, to fight for Debaltseve. The Ukrainian military yesterday reported battles for control of the Artemovsk-Debaltsevo highway. As long as they hold it, the cauldron around the city cannot be considered closed. From the DPR side, according to eyewitnesses, a significant amount of equipment is being pulled towards the city - tanks, artillery, rocket fire systems, the newspaper writes.
