Unlike other industries that have resumed work in the DPR recently,
Makeevka Foundry remained a private enterprise. Instead of introducing external management, the DPR Ministry of Industry managed to agree with the owner to continue work.
“The plant’s products are necessary for the Republic: they are already used in almost all industries, and will also be exported.
The Yuzovsky plant was launched, and other enterprises started operating. This is a production chain where one thing pulls the other. The Donetsk Republic is gradually getting back on its feet economically and industrially, and there will be more and more such enterprises every day,” said the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.
“The production capacity of the plant can be 4000 tons per month, it all depends on how we organize sales. There are already orders, but this is a trade secret.
The Ministry of Industry helped us a lot with both people and equipment, because initially everything here was in a deplorable state: the roof was destroyed, there was no glazing, everything was rotten. We practically had to carry out a major overhaul,” said the director of the enterprise, Victoria Tokmakova.
