DPR launched production of trams, despite the blockade and war
Today, the first tram of its own production was presented in the capital of the DPR. The production of modern transport was organized despite the ongoing hostilities. New Donetsk trams may also be of interest to the Russian market - thanks to a lower price than their competitors, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The solemn event took place at the state-owned Donetsk Electrotechnical Plant.
“I want to once again say words of gratitude to the team of the enterprise. Not only I am proud of this tram, our entire young state is proud,” said the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.
“We have completed the task set by the head of the Republic. We have created new jobs, and this means new revenues to the budget. We created a new production that we never had before. It’s nice that there are still professionals in the DPR who can complete the task,” said DPR Minister of Revenue and Duties Alexander Timofeev.
Minister of Industry and Trade Alexey Granovsky recalled that the production of the tram was carried out despite the continuation of hostilities and the blockade of Donetsk.
“Our colleagues from Izhevsk predicted that it would take us at least two years to launch the production of our own tram; we, working 24 hours a day, made it in five months.
This tram has already passed factory tests, in the near future it will appear on city lines, and I am sure that our residents will really like it,” added Granovsky.
The director of the plant, Vadim Tatsenko, thanked the team for the work done.
“I would like to thank the entire team of the enterprise. Everyone treated production and design documentation with understanding and responsibility. Thank you for working tirelessly until the last minute. Only thanks to such a team such unique things are born,” he noted.
