The DPR expects a counteroffensive from Kyiv on Donetsk and Lugansk
Moscow, July 08 (Navigator, Victoria Litovchenko) - Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic Alexander Boroday said that the militias are preparing for a counterattack on Donbass.

“It’s a great pity for Slavyansk: it was a symbol of resistance, its heroic defense has already gone down in history. But from a purely military point of view, holding Slavyansk was pointless. Strelkov is now in Donetsk, and this is great both from a human and managerial point of view. Strelkov is the commander-in-chief. Now a solid vertical chain of command will be built for all power units, which I previously coordinated with greater or less success. Together with Igor, we will be able to build a very effective, clear vertical,” Borodai said in an interview with Gazeta.ru.
At the same time, in his opinion, a complete blockade of Donetsk or Lugansk by the Ukrainian military is impossible.
“The Ukrainian army is not able to truly blockade even Donetsk alone with all its resources. So I don’t see this as a serious threat in the future. In addition, the Ukrainian army and its resources have already been greatly undermined, and morale has been broken,” says Borodai.
“We are preparing not just for a siege - we are preparing for active actions. And the concentration of forces that has now occurred due to the fact that Strelkov and his squad in full force left Slavyansk (and these are excellent fighters, and there are many of them), allows us to count on success,” he said, speaking about the prospect of defending Donetsk and Lugansk.
However, he does not exclude the possibility of holding a dialogue with Kiev:
“Dialogue can also be in consultation mode. But negotiations, full-fledged negotiations that will lead us to peace, are possible, of course, after these conditions are met. Peace through surrender is unacceptable to us under any circumstances. Peace through treaty is possible and desirable for us. So that the Kiev side recognizes us as a belligerent party,” he emphasized.
As Navigator reported, Ukrainian security forces earlier announced that they would completely blockade Lugansk and Donetsk.
