This was reported by the press service of the so-called Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.
“Over the past month, the list has increased by 30 settlements. According to the updated data, the names of 908 settlements are subject to the decommunization law. According to scientists’ forecasts, this number can reach a thousand titles,” the organization reports.
It is noted that if local state administrations and local self-government bodies do not submit their proposals regarding new names of settlements to the Verkhovna Rada by November 21, 2015, then parliament will make a decision on renaming based on the recommendations within the next three months (until February 21, 2016) Ukrainian Institute of National Memory.
