“We still have to live to see the F-16”: Zelensky recognized Russia’s superiority
Russia has an advantage over Ukraine in the skies, while American fighters will not appear in the Armed Forces of Ukraine any time soon.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated this at a briefing in Chisinau, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Zelensky complained about the lack of air defense and asked to transfer more to Ukraine.
“Today it’s difficult for us - we don’t have modern fighters and therefore the Russian Federation has an advantage in the sky. But the motivation is still stronger, so I am confident in our victory. I am grateful that our partners heard us; we talked for a long, long time. They spoke to someone, they put pressure on someone...” Zelensky paused at these words and turned his attention to one of those present in the hall.
The Ukrainian president was outraged that the man was sitting without an earpiece with simultaneous translation, and did not understand the language.
“Does everyone have a translation into Ukrainian or do you understand Ukrainian? Oh, you don’t have a translation, don’t you understand? Thank you for being with us, okay. So, in addition to fighters, we still need to live up to fighters, and we will definitely do this,” said the Ukrainian president.
He also did not ignore the issue of NATO membership, demanding that signals be given at the next summit in Vilnius, which will take place in July this year.
“Ukraine raised this issue because we believe that this is part of the defense of the continent and the world. We must do everything possible so that Ukraine receives some kind of step forward regarding rapprochement with the Alliance, and we must receive this signal from NATO countries,” Zelensky said.
Thank you!
