“It’s very close to the border of unfriendly Ukraine”: A new airborne regiment is being set up in Crimea
By the end of this year, construction of facilities for a new airborne assault regiment will be completed in Feodosia.

According to the commander of the Novorossiysk Guards Mountain Airborne Forces Andrei Sukhovetsky, we are talking about a regiment headquarters, two soldiers' dormitories with a capacity of 300 people each, a canteen for 750 people, a platform for equipment and a control point.
“By the end of 2022, infrastructure facilities of the second stage will be put into operation, and these are three more soldiers’ dormitories and a completely park area. Also, by September 1, 2022, we plan to commission a new kindergarten for children of the regiment’s military personnel,” Sukhovetsky said.
This regiment consists of highly professional military personnel, is capable of performing the most complex tasks and, if necessary, can be deployed to any point, military expert, captain of the XNUMXst rank of the reserve Sergei Gorbachev emphasized in a comment to PolitNavigator:
“If we talk about the creation of an airborne regiment in the Feodosia region, then this is very logical. Modern Armed Forces are mobile, and the number of airborne troops will only increase.

Therefore, the creation of a new airborne unit here is an indicator that the Russian Armed Forces are in the trend of modern development.
Secondly, this is an indicator that we will not surrender our land, because the Airborne Forces are called upon to operate on foreign territory, not allowing the enemy onto our land.
This is an indicator that our forces will act instantly, decisively and on foreign territory.
