The head of the region's Vodkhoz, Igor Weil, announced this at a press conference in Simferopol on Thursday.

“The Ayanskoe reservoir is completely filled, and we have received more than 20 million cubic meters into the Belogorsk reservoir, which is the only source of water for the Feodosia, Sudak, Lenin and Kerch regions,” Weil said. – All this gives complete confidence that until June we will have normal water flow. The task is set for the holiday period, and then we’ll see.”

To improve the situation, they decided to create a network of storage ponds on the peninsula, however, according to the head of Vodkhoz, this will not solve all of Crimea’s water problems.

“This, of course, will not be in the same volume as it was before the closure of the North Crimean Canal, but, nevertheless, this will provide an opportunity to somehow help our farmers. Of course, it is necessary to sow and plant. Moreover, the Ministry of Agriculture has already developed programs that provide for the lack of water for irrigation. This is crop replacement and much more,” the official explained.

According to Igor Weil, Crimean rivers will be used to create ponds. In particular, Maly Salgir.
