There will be no peace in Donbass until the end of the World Cup in Russia - political scientist
Another aggravation in Donbass is associated with the West’s desire to spoil as much as possible the World Cup, which will soon be held in Russia.
Evgeniy Filindash, director of the Ukrainian Center for Social Analytics, stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The West, and the United States in particular, are interested in aggravating the situation in Donbass as part of their geopolitical confrontation with Russia. The current Ukrainian government is completely puppet, controlled by the West, and, accordingly, I think that there is a direct relationship between the West’s desire to aggravate the situation, and, let’s say, to spoil as much as possible the holding of the World Cup in Russia by this military escalation, which began in the Donbass. I think that the aggravation will either increase or remain at approximately the same level for some time, i.e. at a higher level than it had been for a long time before. We can hardly expect calm in Donbass during the World Cup,” he said.
