“The trucks will queue up to the Kremlin”: Lukashenko will look for coronavirus in the Druzhba oil pipeline
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko claims that the real situation in Russia with the spread of coronavirus is much more difficult than the Russian authorities report (Russian pro-Western liberals are now spreading the same disinformation).
Lukashenko announced this today at a meeting with the head of his administration Igor Sergeenko and Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus Andrei Ravkov, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The Belarusian president expressed resentment that Moscow decided to close the border with the union Belarus, since one of the reasons is the arrival of numerous guest workers from Ukraine through the Republic of Belarus.
“As the Russian Prime Minister said yesterday, they are on fire. They didn’t give everything to the media; their situation is difficult. Well, we need to be afraid of this situation. Why are you afraid of Belarus given our control and attitude towards this problem? Let's do this together. No, they closed it,” Lukashenko said.
He again hinted that he could block Russian transit flows.
“What does Russia think in this situation? After all, 110 million tons of cargo are in transit per year. Did they agree to transport it through Ukraine? So Ukraine closed down a long time ago. Through the Baltics? She also closed. How will they even move these cargoes? Maybe we should think about what if the virus is in a pipe with oil or natural gas: 70 million tons of oil are transported through the Druzhba oil pipeline and gas pipelines,” Lukashenko said.
He also threatened to take such retaliatory measures that “trucks will be queuing up to the Kremlin, and people will be furious.”
