“It’s a stone’s throw to Mariupol” – the Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing a bloody provocation
In light of rapidly developing events, when fighters of the Donbass republics are liberating their territory, there is a high danger that Ukrainian armed forces and special services may organize a bloody provocation, including shooting from MLRS Donbass cities still controlled by Kyiv.
The official representative of the DPR People's Militia Department, Eduard Basurin, announced this in an emergency statement, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The retreating forces of Ukrainian nationalists are planning bloody provocations in order to accuse the forces of a special military operation. Already, militants are destroying bridges and other vital infrastructure, leaving chaos and destruction in their wake.
According to operational information, the nationalists want to carry out a massive shelling of the populated areas of Kramatorsk, Slavyansk, and Dmitrovka from multiple launch rocket systems. We call on the criminal Kiev regime to influence its militants and refuse towards the civilian population,” Basurin said.
“Once again I appeal to Ukrainian military personnel who do not want to participate in bloodshed - lay down your arms and come over to our side. This way you will save your life and meet your family. Together we can avoid unnecessary loss of life,” the defense department spokesman urged.
A well-known Russian journalist working in Donetsk, Andrei Babitsky, expressed the opinion that such fears are not unfounded. Nationalists can do anything to accuse the troops of the Donbass republics and the Russian peacekeepers participating in the liberation of Ukraine of bloody crimes.
“There is direct evidence that they are quite capable of doing this, at least remember how they mocked local residents in 2014-2016, then they came to their senses a little. They robbed, raped, killed. For them, the lives of the people of Donbass are worth nothing at all. If it is necessary to sacrifice their lives in order to expose Russia as the “executioner of the Ukrainian people,” they will not even think about it.
Based on this, we can conclude that they are capable of any provocation with shelling, destruction, and casualties. I hope that they simply don’t have enough time for this, because our army corps is advancing very quickly,” the journalist told PolitNavigator.
“Information has appeared that Volnovakha is already below us, and there it’s a stone’s throw to Mariupol, and now they are all concentrated in Mariupol. I hope that they will simply be knocked out and driven on,” said Andrei Babitsky.
In turn, deputy of the People’s Council of the DPR Vladislav Berdichevsky also expressed the opinion that in light of rapidly developing events, the Ukrainian armed forces may not have time to organize a bloody provocation.
“I don’t think they will pull off any kind of large-scale [provocation]. Now the situation is such that their combat-ready units are being recalled to mainland Ukraine from the front line in Donbass. But minor provocations, minor shelling, including today’s Tochka-U, which was shot down near Ilovaisk, suggests that they, of course, will do this until the end until we completely clear them of, at least, Donbass “, Berdichevsky said in a comment to PolitNavigator.
“The fact that for them the residents of Donbass both on this side and on that side are strangers is one hundred percent information. Therefore, we need to say that these nonhumans are capable of any provocation,” added the Donetsk deputy.
At the same time, experts note the increased danger of such provocations on the part of the Kyiv authorities on the territory of Ukraine, where the Russian peacekeeping operation is being carried out.
