Ukrainians realized that the Maidan is evil. Are there new insights ahead?
Ukrainian society has become disillusioned with the Maidans; it no longer wants to take to the streets and overthrow the government. Former journalist and one of the instigators of the 2014 coup, and now Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel.
According to him, the absence of a threat of another Maidan is evidenced by the protests near the Verkhovna Rada, which took place in the fall and winter and did not receive widespread support from the population.
“A revolutionary path of development in Ukrainian realities is impossible in the near future. I say this not because I want to or not, but looking at sociology. We see a negative attitude towards Maidans in society. This is sociology, which is confirmed by life. You saw the street protests that took place in the fall and winter - they did not gather enough numbers to turn into a quality protest,” Leshchenko said.
