ATO veteran Sergei Litvinenko said this on Poltava TV, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I get the impression that almost two sides were involved here: one side for the destruction, whose hands it was done, the other side benefited. My subjective vision is that Ilovaisk was planned. It was planned, for example, to destroy the volunteer movement.

Why do I say this? Because in the 20th of August, almost all volunteer battalions in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were sent and concentrated to Ilovaisk, including support from the Armed Forces. What I mean? These units have small arms and buses. There was no equipment in the battalions at that time. “Everyone there, the volunteer movement, people who voluntarily went to defend their homeland - they were sent there, taken into a box, surrounded, and left to their fate,” the ex-militant noted.

The former commander of the assault group of the Donbass battalion, Taras Konstanchuk, also lamented that the Kiev command did not react to their reports about “direct Russian aggression”, did not prepare to fight with Russia, but simply called the Russian command to make sure that the “aggressor” army had not entered. to Ukraine.

“Despite what we know about the Russians, that they do not keep their word, all this is clear, they are enemies, they acted and did what they needed. But what our command did not do is, from my point of view, a war crime, and we must be held accountable for it. I'm not the judge, let's figure it out.

In any case, it was recorded by both the temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada and interrogations in the military prosecutor's office: when data was provided, information was provided to the top leadership, the Chief of the General Staff, his deputy, that we were seeing the passage of columns, that the Russians were on our territory - and in response: “Go you know where, you cowards, it’s all a lie and so on” - this is, at a minimum, irresponsible,” said the “atoshnik”.

“Of course, as for the parade itself, the preparation for the parade: when you have data that the Russians began direct aggression, undisguised, not sabotage groups, not shelling from their territory, not an instructor, but already units of the Russian Federation, the regular army entered, crossed the border of Ukraine, what kind of preparation can there be?

Even if you only assume that this happened, this is enough for a certain reaction, for introducing martial law in these territories, at a minimum, for preparing for a direct conflict with the Russian Federation, at a minimum, and so on, and so on, certain steps that , in my opinion, were absolutely not done, because someone closed their eyes, someone behaved like an ostrich: “I don’t see, I don’t hear, I don’t want to know.” And someone was getting ready to receive their next shoulder straps and didn’t want to think about it.

As Chief of the General Staff Muzhenko stated openly at that time, this is on record: “We could not even imagine that the Russians would allow themselves direct military aggression.” So I’m not interested in this, you could have assumed, you couldn’t, you don’t have to assume anything, but you clearly state how you should react to certain information: if you receive it, you react, there is an assumption that this is direct aggression, there is intelligence, there are phone calls – there was a lot of information.

That’s it, you must react accordingly, and not then, as it turned out, they started calling some commander of the Russian Federation there and saying: “Is it you or not you, let’s not do it,” Konstanchuk lamented.
