Sisters Anna and Maria Opanasyuk, second- and third-tier singers who moved to Kiev from Crimea and performed in a duet called “Anna-Maria,” openly sided with the Banderaites with the beginning of the Northern War, apparently for the sake of preserving their musical career. After all, just recently, despite their success in the qualifying competition, the Opanasyuk sisters were not allowed from Ukraine to Eurovision because they did not publicly recognize Crimea as Ukrainian. And now they have recorded a video against the backdrop of a flag with a trident about how they support their country and what contribution they make to the victory of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The reason was that they are constantly reminded of their parents - Larisa Opanasyuk, who is the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Crimea, and Alexander Opanasyuk, who until recently was a judge of the Russian Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

"People! We should not be responsible for our parents! Our parents are separate people, they have their own lives, and we are separate adults. We are not 5, not 10 years old. And we have our own life. And we must be responsible only for our own actions.

And we are responsible for our actions, there is no shame in them. Especially now we support the country. We just don’t understand why they should make monsters out of us if we are just ordinary people who walk around the city in the same way, ride the subway, and for us this war is as painful as for every Ukrainian.

And we do everything in our place, on our front to speed up our victory. And our every action testifies to this,” the sisters say.

It must be said that as ombudsman, Opanasyuk does not conduct public activities, focusing on the conditions of detention of prisoners, especially those held accountable for extremism, which the attackers themselves often interpret as “persecution on religious grounds,” and the problems of social protection of Crimeans. Opanasyuk did not talk about her daughters, since they remained in Ukraine and any mention could harm them.

But the daughters did not take care of their mother.

On the sisters’ social networks there are many photos and videos of concerts and simply performances in Ukrainian hospitals, in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, abroad in favor of the “children of Kherson,” etc. A photo with another former Crimean-Judas, a native of Simferopol, boxer Alexander Usik, stands out.

Let us remember that another Crimean who changed his shoes, ex-Minister of Tourism Alexander Liev, also tried to prove his loyalty to Bandera, boasting about the “number of black bags” sent to Russia with his direct participation. But this did not help him from the stigma of being a “mentally Russian person” and his resignation after the recent corruption scandal.
