The daughters of the Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea came to Ukrainian TV: On air they were called “Russian bl..mi”
The daughters of Deputy Prime Minister of Crimea Larisa Opanasyuk, Maria and Anna, who after 2014 remained to live in Ukraine, where they are among the popular pop singers and perform in a duet called “Anna-Maria,” accepted the invitation of the Majlis TV channel ATR, where they Russophobe TV presenter Roman Skrypin called his show.
Skrypin devoted most of the broadcast to trying to get the girls to explain whose Crimea was and what the Great Victory was. Former Crimean women who preferred to remain in nationalist Ukraine answered in Ukrainian and tried to convey their position.
Skrypin recalled that the Opanasyuk sisters performed at a concert dedicated to Victory Day, which was organized by the Inter TV channel, and demanded to know what the girls were doing there, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We really respect this holiday, Victory Day, because our great-grandmother, great-grandfather, grandmother, grandfather, they told us a lot about it. We know about this not just from some textbooks, but from the lips of those people who saw it with their own eyes. For us this is a holy day, a holiday that exists will remain unmoved. We love all these songs, songs about Victory, songs of that time,” said Maria Opanasyuk and emphasized that they were participants in the “Immortal Regiment” action, which on May 9 last year gathered a large number of participants in Kyiv.
Skrypin also unsuccessfully tried to get the girls to recognize Russia as the aggressor and Crimea as occupied.
“Crimea is ours because it is our home. It was, is and will be ours, because it is our home. My sister and I, our home. We were born there, we started singing there, we are filled with energy there, this is our favorite place on Earth,” said Maria Opanasyuk.
“Were you in Crimea after what happened? We are driving home and passing two borders. So whose is Crimea if we are traveling across two borders? Ukraine simply lost Crimea... We can endlessly say that Crimea is ours, but we are going there across two borders,” added Anna
At the end of the broadcast, the TV presenter received a call from a viewer who burst into obscene language, calling the girls “Russian b...u.”
