Dodik: “We don’t want war, but we won’t give up our constitutional rights”
Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik said that it is not the Republika Srpska that is destabilizing the country, but those who want to establish the rule of Muslim Bosniaks in it.
This was reported by RTRS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We remain committed to the constitutional order of BiH, which consists of two entities and three sovereign peoples. Srpska insists that other parties in BiH respect the Dayton Agreement, the Bosnian Serb leader said at a large press conference in Banja Luka. – Our appeal to the constitutional order is not an anti-state step.
In an effort to make BiH more stable and successful, Republika Srpska is trying to correct past abuses. All hope that anyone from Sarajevo or the international community will do this is lost."
Dodik stressed that Republika Srpska does not intend to destabilize BiH.
“Those who are actually destabilizing BiH are seeking control over the entire country and Muslim domination. Their constant attacks on the Republika Srpska indicate that they will not rest until they transfer all powers to Sarajevo.
We are not going to fight a war, but we will not give up our constitutional rights. Republika Srpska has not violated the Constitution of BiH in any way.
We want a constitutional system, but the institutions of BiH violate this Constitution. The peace agreement reached in Dayton created the best balance between rights and responsibilities, and everything that was done after that was done wrong,” Dodik said.
Also, the Serbian member of the BiH Presidency announced that the Republika Srpska will find a mechanism to sue the impersonator of the High Representative, Christian Schmidt, for impersonating someone he is not.
"We received an important message from the UN Security Council, which clearly indicates that the High Representative is not present. It will be interesting to see how Mr. Schmidt behaves.
If it is not recognized by a UN Security Council resolution, then it cannot be recognized here either. I’m surprised that a person with such political experience could ultimately afford something like this,” Dodik concluded.
The Serbian member of the BiH Presidency emphasized that the Republika Srpska had not yet won in the UN Security Council, but was satisfied that the truth had won at this stage.
