Dodik: “We do not recognize the so-called Supreme Representative”
Serbian member of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik reacted to request Bosniak colleague Šefik Džaferović to the High Representative for BiH Christian Schmidt to use the “Bonn powers” and remove the Serb from his post.

“I’ll just tell Dzaferovic that I’m not very happy to see him regularly, but he’ll have to see me for a long time,” Dodik told reporters during a visit to Republika Srpska’s Ribnik. – If you analyze his actions, you come to the conclusion that Muslims (Bosniaks - ed.) expect the Supreme Representative to do only what they want, because until now the Supreme Representatives have only done what the Muslims asked them to do . Since 1995, when the institution of the High Representative was introduced, there has been no action on the part of this institution in the interests of the Republika Srpska. Everything was against us, so we have no reason to respect such institutions, such Supreme Representatives, or rather, in the latter case, such so-called Supreme Representatives.”
Dodik noted that one can speak with Christian Schmidt as a representative of the Quinta countries (the five leading Western countries that control the political process in the Balkans - the USA, Great Britain, Italy, France and Germany), or a representative of the group of countries that elected him to this post, or as with the German envoy, but not as with the High Representative. And he noted that the Republika Srpska recognizes his powers only if he, according to the prescribed procedure, is appointed by a resolution of the UN Security Council and in no other way. At the same time, the leader of the Bosnian Serbs is aware that the United States, Germany, the EU and some other countries are behind Schmidt.
“He is not the Supreme Representative, we will not give in to pressure. I think the question for us is to be or not to be. We had better sign the capitulation straight away if we accept that we are being governed in such a way that there may be a foreigner elected by a group of countries who has the power to change the laws. Then it will just be better for us to raise our hands up,” Dodik concluded.
