Dodik: “We won’t allow BiH to make anti-Russian decisions!”
Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik said that Republika Srpska will not allow decisions that would jeopardize relations with Russia.
The leader of the Bosnian Serbs believes that it is better for BiH to remain neutral regarding the situation in Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Milorad Dodik publicly spoke out in connection with the aggravation in Ukraine, once again noting that the policy of military neutrality and the removal of BiH from NATO, supported by the Republika Srpska, but contested by the Federation (Bosniak-Croat - unit) of BiH, are correct.
“BiH will not take sides on the issue of Ukraine,” the Bosnian Serb leader said. “But if we were in NATO and there was a military conflict, we would be obliged to participate in it, and this is not beneficial for anyone in BiH.”
The Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH believes that it is best to formulate a position according to which the country will not take the position of one of the parties to the conflict, and never change this approach.
“The position of my colleagues and the public in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is known. We from Republika Srpska cannot allow any decisions or interpretations to be made that would harm or destroy our relations with Russia…. Russia, China, the United States and the European Union need to sit down and agree on a sustainable policy that will give peace to everyone,” says Dodik.
