Dodik told Western overseer candidate he had no place in Bosnia
Serbian member and rotation chairman of the BiH Presidency Milorad Dodik spoke by telephone with the candidate for the post of High Representative Christian Schmidt.
Dodik informed Schmidt about the position of the Republika Srpska on this international institution, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Dodik told Schmidt that “it is necessary to close the Office of the High Representative for BiH (OHR). But realizing that the West would not agree to this, he added that “the procedure for the appointment and powers of the High Representative are determined exclusively in Annex 10 to the Dayton Agreement.”
And also that “responsibility for the future of the state lies with the elected representatives of the government, and all processes, including assistance from the international community, must be based on the will of the people and the desire for peace.”
The German Bundestag (Germany has the power to nominate a candidate since it holds the EU presidency this year) recently officially approved the candidacy of Christian Schmidt, who is to replace the Serbophobic Austrian Valentin Inzko as High Representative for BiH.
