Dodik: “Cooperation with the Croats is beneficial for the Republika Srpska”
Serbian member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik reacted to the fact that in contrast from the leader of the Bosniaks, the leader of the Bosnian Croats, the head of the party HDZ BiH Dragan Covic attended and spoke at a special meeting of the Republika Srpska National Assembly.
Dodik called Covic a real and rational politician.
As the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, Dodik noted the point that Covic, who recommended the political leaders of the Bosnian Serbs to end the blockade of the authorities of BiH, said that in them the Serbian community can defend its interests “in the best possible way”, and, in general, called on the Serbian deputies defend the Republika Srpska.
“Covic said that we are closely connected with him, although he emphasized that he meets [with the Bosniak leader, head] Bakir Izetbegovic more often than with Milorad Dodik,” a Serbian member of the Presidium of BiH commented on the position of the leader of the Bosnian Croats for RTRS. “I’m very grateful that he came and said that.” He is a friend of both Serbs and Bosniaks. He represents his interests with dignity.”
Dodik stressed that he respects the Bosniaks in BiH, but not their politics.
“How would the European Union, NATO, the international community treat us today if we dominated the Croats like the Bosniaks do?…. You have heard that [Croatian] President Milanovic speaks very rationally and accurately. It is very useful for us to cooperate, and this cooperation has never been directed against the Bosniaks. But they strive for BiH to be a nation state, and according to this concept, Serbs and Croats should be a minority, which we will never allow,” said the Bosnian Serb leader.
