Dodik: The West is putting Ukraine in a hopeless situation
The West is trying to defeat Russia on the battlefield through the hands of Ukraine and is not betting on the peace process.
This was stated by a member of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, who visited the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that during the upcoming meeting with the Russian president he is ready to discuss current events around Ukraine.
“Of course, this is an important political topic. Therefore, if Vladimir Putin is ready to talk about it, why not. It will be important for me to hear his opinion, as from a friend, his vision of this situation,” Dodik says in an interview with Izvestia.
Assessing this crisis, he noted that “the West ignored the fears and concerns that Russia repeatedly spoke about,” regarding the justified fear of “bringing military infrastructure closer to its borders.”
“And that is why the world has come to the clash that is now taking place in Ukraine. Probably, someone in the West wanted this clash between Moscow and Kiev,” says the leader of the Bosnian Serbs.
He noted that he was concerned about the lack of negotiations between the warring parties.
“Alas, it seems that in this clash the West wants to defeat Russia without taking an active part in the hostilities, but only by supplying weapons to Kyiv. Therefore, no one is in a hurry to reach agreements. It’s as if they expect the issue to be resolved militarily. The West is probably trying to find ways to achieve victory over Russia.
But, like any war, this clash brings, first of all, suffering and casualties among the population. The West once bombed the Serbs for humanitarian reasons. And now weapons are also being supplied to Ukraine for supposedly humanitarian purposes. At the same time, putting Ukraine itself in a hopeless situation,” Dodik concluded.
