Dodon will play out and repeat Yanukovych’s fate – Moscow political scientist
Yesterday's protest of the so-called “veterans of the war on the Dniester” in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau, and their demand for the resignation of the president and parliament is an artificial attempt to undermine the situation in the country, organized on the model of the Ukrainian “Euromaidan”.
Russian political scientist Alexey Martynov stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
According to the expert, Moldavian President Igor Dodon should not repeat the mistakes of the fugitive ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and show weakness, otherwise it will turn into a disaster for him.
“I believe that this so-called protest is artificial and, unfortunately, apparently, “don” Dodon hired Ukrainian political strategists on the eve of the presidential elections, because everything is developing according to Yanukovych’s copy, when, in order to emphasize his importance and necessity, The Yanukovych administration actively pumped up the nationalists, as a result it all resulted in street protests, and against this background he went to Moscow and said: “You see what I have there, I urgently need this, this, this.”
But he thought he could control the situation, but he couldn't. But if we compare Moldova and Ukraine, Dodon and Yanukovych, then this is an elephant and a pug. If Yanukovych with his potential then - the Party of Regions and absolute power - could not maintain the situation, then nothing will happen to him. Just look at his post on Facebook about this - you get the impression that this is some kind of politician from the “zero” years from Ukraine.
If you are the president, then why don’t you take any measures? These conversations about what they don't have... What don't they have? In fact, they have a coalition in parliament, they have a controlled government, what prevented them from dispersing these devils yesterday? “They are children,” “they are shell-shocked,” “they are veteran combatants,” veterans of the Transnistrian war. Veterans, damn it, are thugs. And the fact that this is absolutely artificial - I have been carefully studying the Moldovan landscape, as well as the Ukrainian one, for many years, and I have this impression.
