“May 9 was and will remain Victory Day. Regardless of what the parliamentary majority of Eurounionists wants. We remember, we are proud!” wrote Dodon.
Last week, the Moldovan parliament introduced amendments to the Labor Code, according to which another paragraph “May 9 is Europe Day” was added to the article “Official holidays”. It will immediately follow the paragraph “May 9 - Victory Day and the memory of the heroes who died for the independence of the Motherland.” Dodon then said that he did not intend to approve this project.
“The President has the right, if he has legal grounds, to return the project back to parliament. If this happens, the deputies will vote for it again, and then the president will be obliged to promulgate it,” said the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament Andrian Candu.
As PolitNavigator reported, the May Day demonstration in Chisinau headed by Valuev and Dodon.
