Dodon complained to Medvedev on Twitter about sanctions against Ukraine
President of Moldova Igor Dodon sent a letter to Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev with a complaint about the difficulties that resulted from Moscow's ban on the import of goods from Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Text of the letter from the President of Moldova published on his Twitter page, noting in the message the official account of the Russian Prime Minister.
According to Dodon, the decree signed by Medvedev at the end of December “creates barriers to the export of Moldovan products to the Russian market due to the lengthening of the cargo delivery route and an increase in transport flows.”
“I ask you, if possible, to consider as soon as possible a way out of the current situation regarding the transportation of Moldovan products to the Russian Federation through the territory of Ukraine,” Dodon wrote in conclusion.
The decree of the Russian government, which Dodon refers to, was signed by Dmitry Medvedev on December 29. The document provides for restrictions on the import of a number of categories of goods that are produced in Ukraine or supplied to Russia in transit through Ukrainian territory.
Among the categories subject to restrictions are food products, a number of items of agricultural and industrial equipment, some types of raw materials, household chemicals and hygiene items.
