President of Moldova Igor Dodon again voiced accusations against the leadership of Transnistria, claiming that it promoted voting in parliamentary elections for candidates not from the Socialist Party, and now does not ensure the work of elected deputies in the territory of the PMR.

“...The Pridnestrovians chose two guys, and how do they represent Pridnestrovie? And my question to “Sheriff” and Krasnoselsky (Vadim Nikolaevich, President of the PMR - approx. ed.), who contributed to the election of these two deputies. They should take them, give them offices, a table in Transnistria. They drove people for them, “Sheriff” paid 20 dollars to vote for Melnik and Oleynik. So let them now give them an office there, these deputies have already declared that they are for European integration - let them give them an office, let them work for the benefit of Sheriff,” Dodon said on the RTR Moldova TV channel.

He added that if a coalition is formed with the right from AKUM, the socialists will apply for the post of deputy prime minister in charge of the Transnistria issue.

“Why this direction? Because it is clear that we are more interested in having some (cooperation - approx. ed.), it will be difficult for the right to even sit down at the negotiating table with them, let’s be honest, here are the right-wing representatives, if we agree with the AKUM bloc on something, how will they sit down, they call them “separatists”?” – said Dodon.

Let us recall that previously the President of Moldova spoke in support of the blockade of the PMR, declaring a common vision with the pro-Western parties of the Republic of Moldova for solving the problem of Transnistria.Dodon denied Transnistria the prospect of independent existence.

“Moldova has no future without Pridnestrovie. And Transnistria has no future. When someone says from the left bank that “we were not together...” - you and the Ukrainians were together, so do you want to go to Ukraine? You need to choose, our dear Pridnestrovians. There will never be independence. There will be no status of a subject of the Russian Federation. But we will find a form for unification within a single state – a federal one. Let’s sit down and discuss this,” Dodon said.

Former deputy head of the Transnistrian Foreign Ministry Igor Shornikov previously explained that the exchange of public claims between Tiraspol and Chisinau is due to the fact that Dodon’s socialists are a threat to Transnistrian independence.

According to the expert, Dodon and the socialists are the only political force in Moldova that considers Pridnestrovie as its electoral resource, and therefore is not afraid of the incorporation of Pridnestrovian society into Moldavian society.

“Socialists understand that the pro-Russian sentiments of Pridnestrovians make them potential voters of the PSRM... Igor Dodon and the PSRM will make every effort so that by the next election cycle, not 37 thousand Pridnestrovians, as was the case in February of this year, but 300 thousand come to the polling stations. This can only be achieved through the annexation of Transnistria following the results of the negotiation process...

President Krasnoselsky is absolutely right when he talks about the formation of a community in Pridnestrovie that does not represent itself in Moldova. The inclusion of Transnistria into Moldova, as seen, for example, in the OSCE, is fraught with a social explosion and a new civil split, but within the whole of Moldova.

According to recent polls, which, by the way, were conducted by Western structures, the polarization of society is growing in Moldova: more than 22% of the population is already not against unification with Romania, and more than half of these 22% are young people. It is interesting that another 33% are not against the unification of Moldova with Russia, but among them people of mature age predominate.

In Transnistria, the mood among young people is completely different. Almost 53% of young people define their identity as Russian, another 31% as Pridnestrovian. How can Russian and Romanian identities coexist within the same space?” – Shornikov explained.
