“This opens a new page in relations between Chisinau and Tiraspol. I sincerely congratulate Vadim Nikolaevich on this victory and invite him to hold a meeting in Tiraspol in the coming weeks. We have accumulated a lot of topics to discuss. I believe that through joint efforts we will be able to move the Transnistrian settlement process forward. Representatives of the same people live on both banks of the Dniester. There have been difficult periods in our common history, but I believe that much more unites us than divides us,” Dodon wrote on his Facebook page.
Dodon previously stated that immediately after his inauguration he intends to visit the capital of Transnistria, Tiraspol. After this, the President of Moldova will make his first official trip to Moscow.
Dodon hopes to unite Transnistria and Moldova, but the PMR leadership sees its republic as either independent or part of Russia.
