He spoke about this in an interview with the Russian publication Sputnik, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would really hope and would really like for Ukraine and Russia to return to the level of trust that was before 2013-2014. This conflict and confusion that is happening in Ukraine, of course, bothers us all. They interfere with our bilateral relations with Ukraine, they interfere with our trade with Russia, because we need to somehow transit through Ukraine,” Dodon noted.
According to him, Moldova’s position is as follows: “we call on all parties to sit down at the negotiating table and somehow come to an agreement.”
Earlier, Dodon said that Ukraine’s introduction of biometric control for foreigners will create additional problems for Moldovan citizens traveling to Ukraine.
Let us remind you that the number of tourists coming to Ukraine from abroad increased by 2016% in 5,6 compared to 2015. Last year, 13,6 million people came to Ukraine. At the same time, in 2015 the number of tourists decreased by 2014% compared to 1,3. We had 0,2 million tourists then. Moldova ranks first in terms of the number of tourists. In 2016, 4,5 million Moldovans came to Ukraine, which is almost every third tourist.
