Dodon has formed and is ready to throw into battle an anti-Maidan army of thousands
Igor Dodon promised to defend his victory in the second round of the presidential elections with the help of mass protests, if necessary.
He stated this today at a rally in his support in Chisinau, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“You see what our opponents are doing. They crossed all the red lines. We didn’t touch them until November 1, didn’t criticize them, didn’t mention their names. They became insolent, until they get it back in the face, they won’t understand. Therefore you need to be tough. We need to fight back. I promise that we will not miss our victory. And if you need to come here and defend, we will all come here and defend,” Dodon said.
The rally participants supported him with cheers.
Similar rallies took place in other Moldovan cities, the largest of which was in Comrat, the capital of Gagauzia. Dodon himself estimated the number of participants in today’s protests at 20 thousand people.
Even his ill-wishers admit that at least 5 thousand people gathered in the square in Chisinau.
Two days earlier, the scandalous Moldovan politician Renato Usatii, who had defected to Sandu’s camp, provocatively and cynically accused Dodon and the country’s Defense Minister Pavel Voica of “preparing the Maidan.”
“The biggest problem is being prepared on the night from Sunday to Monday after the second round of the presidential election. Yesterday Pavel Voicu met with the commissioners. The task was set that lists should be prepared from the north of Moldova so that after the vote these people would be ready to organize mass marches and riots in Chisinau.
The command was given to mobilize transport so that these people were delivered to Chisinau. Pavel Voicu gave the same command to his subordinates in the center of Moldova,” states Usatii.
According to the Chisinau City Hall, two public associations have notified their intention to hold rallies in the center of the capital the day after the second round of the presidential elections on October 16. These are the Union of Officers of the Republic of Moldova and the Union of Afghan War Veterans that support the president. It is expected that 15 thousand people will attend the rallies.
Previously it was believed that the Maidan after the elections would be assembled by the leader of the pro-Western opposition, Maia Sandu. She herself announced this, warning about impending falsifications.
