Dodon rolled out a list of agricultural exports to Moscow
President of Moldova Igor Dodon voiced a number of requests to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak, who visited Chisinau for the second time this month, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I turned to Dmitry Nikolayevich so that the Russian side would consider the possibility of extending those agreements that are valid until July 1.
We are talking about the export of Moldovan goods under five duty-free items. These include apples, wine, and canned goods. We were given this opportunity for 6 months. During this period, supplies increased significantly. By 50% for some product items. Moldovan producers saved several hundred million rubles,” Dodon told reporters today.
He also asked to issue permits to Moldovan vehicles to transport goods across Russia and to expand the list of enterprises that can supply goods to the Russian Federation.
“The most important issue is that we need to quickly resolve the issue of gas supplies. Of course, this depends on Ukraine, because we do not know whether there will be transit through Ukraine from January 1st. We still don’t have a transit agreement, or an agreement at what price and under what conditions we will supply gas,” Dodon complained.
Kozak promised that all the questions raised would be considered as soon as possible. He expressed hope that Moldova will lift the ban on visits to Russia for its officials.
“It is extremely important that cooperation is mutually beneficial. We’ll talk about this today in the government,” Kozak noted.
