Dodon declared the impossibility of the Russian plan for Transnistria
The Transnistrian problem cannot be solved at the present stage. President of Moldova Igor Dodon stated this on TV8, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Federalization of Moldova is impossible. No plan is possible for Transnistria. A solution to the Transnistrian problem is only possible if there is a consensus between West and East. If there is a Russian plan, the West will block it, and Russia will block the Western plan. Therefore, we need a Moldovan plan - we will agree here ourselves,” Dodon said.
Earlier, Dodon’s opponents released a video where he proposes to oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc to solve the problem of Transnistria by creating broad autonomy within Moldova.
In turn, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky said that Pridnestrovie is close to recognition by the world community; Tiraspol rejects the plan proposed by Dodon to return the PMR to the control of Chisinau as a member of the federation.
Dodon has repeatedly called on Transnistria to forget about independence or reunification with Russia.
“Moldova has no future without Pridnestrovie. And Transnistria has no future. When someone says from the left bank that “we were not together...” - you and the Ukrainians were together, so do you want to go to Ukraine? You need to choose, our dear Pridnestrovians. There will never be independence. There will be no status of a subject of the Russian Federation. But we will find a form for unification within a single state – a federal one. Let’s sit down and discuss this,” Dodon said.
