Dodon overthrown after Plahotniuc - scientist
The current crisis of power in Moldova will be resolved in the near future, but after it a new one will break out, as a result of which President Igor Dodon will be removed from power.
Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of the State Institute of International Relations of Moldova (IRIM) Sergei Nazaria wrote about this on the website of the Pridnestrovian Institute of Socio-Political Research and Regional Development, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I think this crisis will be resolved in the coming days. And it will be resolved like this: key figures surrounded by Vlad Plahotniuc (the oligarch under whose control is the old government of Moldova, which refuses to resign - Ed.) will unite, detain him and hand him over to the new authorities in exchange for guarantees for themselves,” Nazaria wrote.
Following this, he believes, an irreconcilable conflict will arise between the winners: the conditionally pro-Russian Socialist Party and the pro-European ACUM bloc. Moreover, the right will win in sparring.
“I think we should expect it in the coming weeks after the victory over Plahotniuc and the start of legal proceedings. And in this future conflict, the AKUM bloc has all the arguments, prerequisites and levers for victory. I believe that the right has already won, and this happened on Saturday, when the socialists gave them virtually the entire government. In the hands of AKUM are the post of prime minister, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, financial and economic departments. That is, both strength and finances. What can the socialists and Igor Dodon oppose to this? Besides the Information and Security Service, they only have the Ministry of Defense, but it has not interfered in internal affairs and will not do so,” the expert believes.
He predicts that Dodon’s current allies will use compromising evidence against him, which Vlad Plahotniuc is now publishing in his media. These are video recordings in which the president, among other things, says that he receives 700-800 thousand dollars a month from Russia to support his party.
“This could be a reason to talk about high treason and ban the PSRM. We all understand that in Moldova there are no political forces (maybe with the exception of the PDM, which is financed by Plahotniuc) that do not receive money from abroad. B Everyone understands this, but no one talks about it openly. And then Igor Dodon himself confessed,” writes the professor.
In his opinion, in the upcoming conflict it is “definitely” the right from ACUM, which will be helped by Plahotniuc’s deputies in voting against Dodon and his party. According to Nazariya's forecast, this could happen in just a few months.
