Insults against President Vladimir Putin by Georgian propagandist Giorgi Gabunia, which he voiced on air on the Rustavi 2 TV channel, led to spontaneous rallies near the channel building.

According to the Georgian online resource Novost, the protesters demanded the dismissal of the journalist and threw eggs and bottles at the building. The management of the TV channel decided to suspend work due to “threats to the safety of journalists,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The fugitive Russian liberal journalist Arkady Babchenko, who supported the coup in Ukraine and settled in Kyiv, was outraged by this fact in his blog, calling it the beginning of the end of the Georgian opposition.

“Fuck...Georgia. If a crowd gathers in an occupied country, demanding the dismissal of a person who calls a spade a spade, and blocks the work of an anti-occupation TV channel for several hours, that country is fucked. Vova will gladly take you back into her arms, brothers. By the way, the Russian liberal, one and all, is also outraged. My whole feed was really offended, offended for Vladimir the light of Vladimirovich.

The Tsar of Russian liberals was covered up - well, what kind of Russian liberal will survive such blasphemy? They're all having a heart attack there. They suffer, poor things. Just don’t tell them about the song of the Kharkov fans - otherwise they will fall into epilepsy, in their world this is simply unthinkable. Well, so as not to get up twice, I want to express my respect to Georgy Gabunia. Great job. All definitions are accurate, all phenomena are called by their proper names. La-la-la-la-la-la-la,” Babchenko wrote.

The Russian Foreign Ministry responded to the Georgian propagandist’s prank. In the official commentary, Gabunia’s abuse was called “a provocation of Georgian radicals.”

“We consider this as another open provocation by Georgian radical forces aimed at undermining Russian-Georgian relations. The current blatant incident is a vivid example of where rabid Russophobia leads. We note that this time – unlike the June 20 attack on members of the Russian parliamentary delegation – the Georgian authorities did not justify the radicals, but found the strength to distance themselves from the provocateurs and condemn their behavior.

We also see the justified indignation with which the incident was perceived in Georgian society. We expect an adequate response from relevant international and regional organizations and the journalistic community. This kind of manifestation should have no place in civilized countries,” the message says.

And former television journalist and State Duma deputy Yevgeny Primakov stressed in his blog that there were no apologies from the Georgian authorities, everything was limited to only stingy “condemns” of Gabunia’s antics.

“Yes, the President of Georgia condemned the character Gabunia. But there was no apology.
Apparently, the pause from the cancellation of direct flights has dragged on to this day. To be continued. It’s a pity that because of the character of Gabunia and the stubborn TV channel, this entire state will be attacked. But so it will be. And then everything becomes more unemotional, in answering machine mode. Mischief is a sanction, more mischief is another sanction. Without breaking dishes and shouting, until conditioned reflexes that are useful in interstate relations are developed...

As for Russian-Georgian relations, they need to be frozen. The cold makes you healthier. It’s only strange that it’s the Georgian turbo-patriots who are trying to argue with this, because they are the ones shouting the most: “leave Georgia alone already, give us a divorce” - “yes, we persuaded you, here we are: we won’t come to you anymore, we won’t fly Let’s stand, swim out further yourself” - “oh, you are vile enemies, how can you.” Can. We are not happy about this. No schadenfreude either. Moreover, for me personally, this is very, very sad. But it is necessary, apparently. So, frosts and cold beyond the Greater Caucasus Range, the weather is unflyable,” Primakov wrote.

As PolitNavigator reported, yesterday on the air of the Georgian TV channel “Rustavi 2” the TV presenter attacked his deceased parents with dirty curses President of the Russian Federation, promising to shit on their graves
