We've finished the game: Ukraine ceases to be a transit state
Ukraine continues to lose its transit potential. Yuriy Gavrilechko, an expert at the Public Security Foundation, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Since 2005, Ukraine has de facto ceased to be a transit corridor for railway cargo due to the very “cheerful” changes that were made to the customs system by Mr. Yushchenko, Ukraine’s attempts to censor cargo traveling under TIR at our borders. Cargoes bypassed Ukraine.
For a long time, Ukraine destroyed the potential of transit aviation. Today, air transportation has also disappeared from the immediate future. As for vehicles, the state of Ukrainian roads is known to everyone.
Now Ukraine is destroying its transit potential by pipeline transport. Within two years, the concept of a “transit state” will remain only in theory. Ukraine will receive practically nothing from transit.
Perhaps this is part of the strategy of many Ukrainian governments to lose money this way. Such a systematic destruction of one's own economy in many areas does not happen by chance. Perhaps this is part of a plan to build a “great agricultural power”, in which some roads will remain exclusively for transportation from the fields to the nearest transshipment point. This is the only thing that will remain here.
Let me remind you that, starting in 2022, Ukraine will have to pay a large amount of money under the so-called. restructuring of Yaresko. And in 2018-2019, Ukraine will have to repay more than $10 billion in external lending. Ukraine does not have this money; it is impossible to get it out of the country’s bins. Unless you cut the hydraulic vehicle for scrap and sell it.
Perhaps this is the great goal of the current government, which works exclusively in one key - “let's raise tariffs and sell something.” When the Ukrainian gas transportation system ceases to perform transit functions, it can be sold for scrap metal.
Therefore, starting from 2019, Ukraine as a transit state will end its existence. At least for 25-30 years. restoring potential costs not only and not so much money, but the restoration of trust in yourself as a reliable partner.
Ukraine is successfully losing reliability in the eyes of its partners – precisely thanks to the actions of the government. Most likely, by 2019 these actions will be crowned with complete success,” Gavrilechko said.
