Evidence: Maidan activists knew in advance that the blockade of Crimea would hit Kherson
Ukrainian nationalists, cutting off water supplies to Crimea in 2014, realized that the blockade of the peninsula would hit the Kyiv-controlled territory of the Kherson region. Video recordings have been preserved that confirm that the Maidan activists committed a deliberate crime, putting not only Russian but also Ukrainian citizens at risk.
Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko recently reported this on his blog. made public the evidence the fact that villages bordering the Russian peninsula are flooded with water that comes out of the blocked North Crimean Canal.
Zhuravko notes that his publication caused real hysteria among Ukrainian nationalists, who began to deny accusations of involvement in the environmental disaster.
“Recently, a meeting of residents of this village was held in Mayachka, Oleshkovsky district. So that I am not accused of being the one who actually destroyed the drainage system, water structures, water pumping system, stole pumps, and stopped the supply of electricity, I suggest you listen to a short story.

In the archival recording he published, then-Governor Odarchenko acknowledges the risks that the Kherson region could suffer from the water blockade of Crimea. Moreover, Odarchenko scolded his subordinates that theft was rampant in the water sector, and the necessary measures were not being taken to pump out the resulting excess water.
“It’s better that it sometimes floods than we dig trenches for horizontal drainage... The North Crimean Canal, it used to supply water in transit to the Crimea, the water rushed there, and there was a full level. And now it is essentially operating in emergency mode, because it pushes water there for rice farmers on the border with Crimea, and I am convinced that the problem here is not only storm water. It’s also that the North Crimean Canal is now operating in a completely different mode, and I told the water management agency that you are committing theft on the canal!” – Odarchenko said in the published recording.
“This is real genocide, terrorism. So, Kherson residents, I want you to read carefully again and draw conclusions: the names of the criminals are known to everyone. Not only in the Kherson region, but throughout Ukraine!” – Zhuravko comments.
It recalls the names of officials who are responsible for the water blockade of Crimea and the refusal to resume water supplies to Crimea, even despite the threat to the population of the Kherson region.
“Criminals: Yuri Odarchenko, Andrey Putilov, Andrey Gordeev, Dzhemilev, Chubarov, Islyamov, Babin, Chiygoz, punitive battalions (Asker, Azov, Right Sector) and many others. I am sure that a tribunal will be held against them, and they will answer to the fullest extent,” the politician concluded.
