Vladivostok dockers threw helmets at the owner of the enterprise, who called them cattle
Workers of the Vladivostok Sea Commercial Port (VMTP) today threw their helmets at the president of the FESCO group, which owns the enterprise, Arkady Korostelev.
The dockers have been protesting for five days against the change of the head of the port and themselves demanded that the new management and owners come to them, but when Korostylev walked through the crowd of workers, he allegedly contemptuously threw out the “cattle” and this caused a sharp reaction.
The port believes that the owners fired the old director, Zairbek Yusupov, for the decision to return 19 billion rubles, which were used to repay the FESCO loan.
An alternative point of view on the conflict, disseminated through telegram channels, states that Yusupov himself took out loans, but redirected the funds to the companies of his criminal Dagestani relative. Thus, the port was brought to bankruptcy.
Protesting workers claim that the fired Yusupov introduced many social support measures. They turned to the governor of Primorye Oleg Kozhemyako for help.
Despite weeks of protests, the port is functioning: dockers simply replace each other. The workers asked journalists not to attribute their actions to a political nature.
