CIA report: American burger chain will appear in North Korea
According to a CIA report, a chain of American burger joints may appear in North Korea, which should be a sign of improving relations between Pyongyang and Washington, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The NBC television channel, citing its own sources familiar with the report of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un intends to open a franchise of one of the American fast food restaurants in Pyongyang. According to the channel’s interlocutor, this gesture should become a sign of improvement in US-North Korean relations. However, it is noted that the head of the DPRK does not intend to give up nuclear weapons.
A similar intelligence agency report was prepared in connection with the summit of heads of state scheduled for June in Singapore. According to American analysts from the CIA, the head of the White House, Donald Trump, has little chance of convincing his colleague from the DPRK to give up nuclear weapons, since denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is not part of Pyongyang’s plans. Experts came to similar conclusions based on an analysis of Kim Jong-un’s latest statements and changes in North Korean policy.
The act of goodwill in the form of opening a chain of American burger joints in the DPRK is aimed at demonstrating to the US President, who is a fast food lover, his readiness to conduct a dialogue, analysts emphasized. Let us recall that in January of this year, the chief physician of the White House pointed out to the head of state problems with excess weight and recommended that he give up fast food. It is also known that Trump previously noted his readiness to negotiate with Kim Jong-un over a hamburger.
