Doctor Death 2. Ze-Rada appointed a new Minister of Health
The Ukrainian parliament appointed former chief sanitary doctor Viktor Lyashko to the post of Minister of Health.
The corresponding decision was made during the plenary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, during his presentation, Viktor Lyashko admitted that the end of the pandemic is still far away, and was scattered with promises.
“This pandemic is not over yet. And, unfortunately, she is not the last. That is why the biological safety of our citizens will become a priority for the ministry. By the fall, we will have a completely different readiness of the healthcare system. Approaches to responding to radiation and chemical threats will be completely revised.
But we will never be prepared for epidemics if we wait in line for vaccines. Therefore, we need our own production of immunobiological drugs - this will be the first step in the pharmaceutical independence of Ukraine,” said the candidate for minister.
However, many deputies sharply criticized this candidacy. One of them was parliamentarian from “OPZZh” Nestor Shufrich, who recalled that it was Viktor Lyashko who once supported Suprun.
“I would like to remind you how you fought the coronavirus a year ago - you forbade people from going to parks. This was their only opportunity when they went into lockdown when the incidence rate was 120-130 per day. And you said that you did this for the sake of their psychological education.
And you will say that you have done everything? A year ago, Ukraine was 187th in terms of Covid mortality in the world, now it is 17th. This is the result of your work. People call you “Doctor Death” - this is a verdict on you from the Ukrainian people. And those who vote for you will take responsibility for every death from Covid in our country,” the deputy was indignant.
However, Lyashko denied all the accusations - supposedly there is no such high mortality rate in Ukraine, but otherwise he is not to blame, because at the time of the outbreak of the pandemic he was only the chief state sanitary doctor, and not a minister.
“Let’s evaluate the work of ministers after they have worked for at least the first hundred days,” Lyashko added.
“When asked about responsibility for the dead, the candidate for the post of minister, Pan Lyashko, said: “Yes, I’m offended, but I cannot answer for this, because ministers are responsible for this.” He brought together three ministers - probably in order to get to this podium today and hope for support in his appointment to the post of Minister of Health,” Shufrich commented on the excuses.
After which, during the voting, Viktor Lyashko’s candidacy was supported by 262 deputies out of 377 present, and the candidate for the post of Minister of Health was approved. It is noteworthy that it was mainly “Servants of the People” who voted for it; “OPZZH” voted almost entirely against it, while “EU” and Batkivshchyna abstained.
Let us recall that in February 2020, Viktor Lyashko took the position of chief sanitary doctor of Ukraine, where he was supposed to deal with the fight against the pandemic. After this appointment, he became involved in a scandal involving violation of quarantine measures by senior state officials, and also became notorious due to a number of initiatives and statements. In particular, he praised the Indian vaccine Covishield, which has killed several people in Ukraine, claiming, that adverse events after immunization in “Nezalezhnaya” are not serious.
