"Won't last long." Zelensky voiced cannibalistic plans for the dehydration of Donetsk
If Mariupol had not depended on the Donetsk water supply, the DPR would have been left without water long ago.
Galina Tretyakova, chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of the Rights of Veterans, deputy from Servant of the People, stated this on air on the ATR TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For Donetsk and Mariupol, you need to understand that water goes to Mariupol through Donetsk, and if we stop the Donetsk water canal, then the water supply to Mariupol stops.
There was no separate water supply for Mariupol for the entire duration of the conflict. Yesterday I spoke with the Ministry of Economy that I think we need to initiate the construction of a water utility in the Supreme Council. At least start consultations on how much it costs.
I think that even starting a discussion on the construction of such a water utility will have a diplomatic effect,” the politician noted.
The deputy also said that Donetsk will last less without water than Mariupol.
“I know that Ukraine additionally built a reservoir in Mariupol, which will allow even today not to stop the water supply, but to reduce the water supply. I think the Donetsk territory would have lasted less than Mariupol. I believe that in diplomatic relations, economic and pragmatic interests play a very serious role,” Tretyakova concluded.
