Activists of the Autonomous Union of Workers (a left-wing anarchist organization that supported the Maidan) announced their demands today during a picket at the Ministry of Fuel and Energy.
In their hands, the protesters held posters with the inscriptions “No to the rise in prices of communal services”, “Economically sound durilovo”, “Heat and freedom”, “Water and heat are not profit”, and also chanted the chant “Down with ministers - down with capitalists”.
“Water and warmth are what are given to man by nature,” emphasized the activist, who introduced himself to journalists as Bogdan Bondarenko. “And no one has the right to profit from these things.” In general, we believe that communal services should be free for workers who create material wealth in the country.”
“The current government, after we withstood the winter confrontation with the Yanukovych regime, gave us a gift in the form of raising tariffs,” another activist named Georgy told the agency’s correspondent. – This winter we will have to withstand the cold. In general, as representatives of an anarchist organization, we are convinced that society can live without an institutionalized superstructure over it in the form of a state, which, in principle, is used only for oppression and theft of natural goods that the population has.”
